Wednesday Wisdom Words 7

“A wise old owl sat on an oak. The more he saw, the less he spoke. The less he spoke, the more he heard. Why can’t we all be like that bird ? “.                                                              John D Rockfeller.

Findings has it that the less a man speaks, the smarter he becomes. How so ? Consider this analogy.

In the wise saying of John D Rockefeller quoted above, there was one outlet and there were two inlets of wisdom or knowledge. The outlet is the tongue. The inlets are the ear and eye. The owl focused more on the two inlets and starved more the outlet. No wonder he was termed wise. It was able to retain more and lose less by speaking.

Can we all be like that owl ? Sure we can. How so ? By imitating the wise owl of Rockfeller saying in doing these three enlisted things :

1. Speak less.

2. See more

3. Listen more.

In our next article, we will discuss how we can speak less, see more and listen more.

To a smart generation.
