BUHARI’S RETURN… a sublime lesson about education.

Yes, the long departed president of the country arrived from his 100 day medical sabbatical sometime ago and as expected, he decided to address the country in order to let the citizens of the country  know that he is aware of some critical issues the country is contending with.

While during his absence, the normal ASUU strike that comes as frequently as a natural occurrence as leap year ensued, the president of the country made no reference to it in his speech. No mention was made on such a matter as seemingly important as education in a speech meant to tackle important issues. Can you imagine?

So what is my point in all these? Although I am not trying to lay an accusing finger at the government of the nation, it is obvious that the tides of survival as changed. Even the country does not see education as the only means of survival, so why should you ?

Students let’s get out there, learn a skill, get a trade, live a life of our dreams without necessarily depending on White collar Jobs which can only be gotten with secular education. The tides of survival has changed my friend.

Consider, this other reason, Jamb yesterday released their general cut-off to be 100. I could not believe it. 100 as how? Education that was formally accessible to those with  average scores such 180 and 200 can now be accessible to those we consider as former failures ( those that would score 100 from a Jamb examination ).

My friends, i guess it is high time we determined for ourselves what really translates to success on an individual level o!
*I was planning on a short article so most will connect the dots and come to a reasonable conclusion for themselves*
